Scovell Scholarships are open to all North Texas students with a high school diploma or equivalency who continue their education in the State of Texas or at a Big 12 or Southeastern Conference university, the two conferences associated with the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic.
Scholarships are made possible in part by a anonymous grant received In December 2005 that was matched dollar-for-dollar through a successful fundraising campaign in 2006. Foundation grants are also made possible in part from a $100,000 grant from the E.E. "Buddy" Fogelson and Greer Garson Fogelson Charitable Foundation and $55,000 in grants from the AT&T Foundation.
Previous Scovell Scholarship recipients can apply for the E.E. "Buddy" Fogelson Scholarships, awarded to Scovell winners still enrolled in college. These scholarships include the Mary Dupree Scovell Scholarship, the Ben E. Keith Company Scholarship, the E.E. "Buddy" Fogelson Scholarship, the Catfish Montgomery Scholarship and the Hunt Consolidated Inc. Scholarship.
